Embarking on a new business venture is both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. Today, I am thrilled to share the news of opening my first-ever Etsy store, where I will be offering a variety of products such as wall art, greetings cards, stickers, and much more. Alongside the books I am producing on Amazon, this marks a significant milestone in my entrepreneurial journey. In this blog post, I want to take you through the process of starting my Etsy store, the products I am offering, and the courage it took to pursue my dreams.
Building a Diverse Product Range: One of the exciting aspects of my Etsy store is the diverse range of products I am offering. From stunning wall art that adds a touch of beauty to any space, to heartfelt greetings cards that convey emotions perfectly, and quirky stickers that bring a smile to anyone’s face, there is something for everyone. My products are all tailored to the ‘Alternative’ community, such as Goths, Emo’s, Punks, and more.
The Etsy Experience: Launching an Etsy store comes with its own set of challenges and learning curves. From setting up shop and creating compelling product listings to understanding the intricacies of Etsy’s algorithms and customer engagement, I have immersed myself in the Etsy experience. It has been a journey of trial and error, but with each step, I have gained valuable insights and honed my skills as a business owner.
The Power of Amazon: In addition to my Etsy store, I am also producing books on Amazon. This dual approach allows me to explore different avenues and reach a wider audience. While it may seem daunting to manage two platforms simultaneously, I believe in the power of diversification and the opportunities it presents.
Embracing the Unknown: Starting a business is never a guarantee of success, but the most important thing is that I have tried. I have taken a leap of faith, embracing the unknown and refusing to let fear hold me back. Even if my Etsy store doesn’t achieve the level of success I hope, I am proud of myself for taking this step and pursuing a new life for myself. I have never put myself on display like this before, so it is a scary yet exciting prospect. It’s a reminder that failure is not the end, but rather a stepping stone towards growth and new opportunities.
I proudly embrace my Goth identity, although I once felt ashamed due to prejudice. Recognising the lack of representation in mainstream gifting, I launched a range of Gothic products on Etsy, including wall art and greeting cards, with the hope of making everyone feel included, heard and represented. My wall art influences range from Cottagecore, Positive Affirmations, Grunge, all out Gothic, Dark Academia and many more. More items like bookmarks and stickers are in the pipeline, with plans for planners and trackers in the future. Stay tuned!

Conclusion: Opening my first Etsy store alongside my Amazon book production has been an incredible journey of self-discovery and growth. While the road ahead may be uncertain, I am excited to see where this venture takes me. Whether my Etsy store flourishes or faces challenges, I am proud that I have tried, and that in itself is a victory. I invite you to join me on this journey, explore my Etsy store, and be a part of this exciting chapter in my life.
