The Power of Vulnerability: How Sharing Your Struggles Can Impact Your Blog

I’m facing some serious challenges with blogging. I don’t know how to create content, choose topics, and make my site look as appealing and user-friendly as possible. I have over 15 years of experience in IT as a QA Engineer, so managing the technical aspects isn’t a big issue. It’s more about the content creation side of things. I’ve realized that it’s partially due to a lack of knowledge which I can work on, but a lack of confidence is also a significant factor.

I’ve never been the type to promote myself on social media. I rarely post photos or share videos, and I struggle to write positively about myself or the products I’ve created. Furthermore, the platform I’m using is much more complex than I initially thought. I need to dedicate a significant amount of time to learning WordPress and marketing. It’s going to be a challenging task, but it’s absolutely necessary. I don’t have a team to rely on for learning and implementation, so I have to handle everything myself. I understand that many businesses are in the same position, but it’s still very frustrating. Platforms like WordPress can be overwhelming, especially for someone like me with learning difficulties. I find it difficult to absorb the information, and being a visual learner, I think using YouTube tutorials will be the most beneficial for me. I need to disconnect from distractions and focus solely on learning.

I don’t mean to sound like I’m complaining, but I’m genuinely finding this process extremely challenging, to the point where I’m unsure if I can continue. I don’t have the financial means to hire someone, so everything falls on my shoulders. I dislike how platforms like WordPress can make individuals with difficulties feel excluded due to their highly technical details. I wish they provided simpler documentation and offered support for those who struggle to comprehend the information. This lack of accessibility has pushed me to find alternative ways to work through my challenges, and I believe utilizing YouTube may be the solution. I apologize for the lengthy post, but these issues deeply concern me. I’m a strong advocate for equal opportunities and disability inclusion, so encountering barriers like this is difficult to overlook. The obstacles I’m facing, whether it’s related to blogging, product creation, or promoting my work on social media, are directly impacting my business. My confidence is waning, and I strongly believe that no one should feel this way. Each new project now fills me with dread, and I want to be the best business owner I can be. I’m willing to learn and adapt, but accessibility is key! Don’t make things unnecessarily difficult!

Another challenge I face is constantly comparing my business, and myself, to others. I often find myself feeling disheartened when I see how beautiful and functional their sites are and how effortlessly they sell their products. Patience isn’t my strong suit and I tend to spend too much time nitpicking and striving for perfection. However, I recognize these issues and I want to be a better entrepreneur. I need to overcome my critical inner voices and have more faith in myself. I know that everyone experiences doubts and struggles, and it’s okay to give myself credit and space to grow. I am determined to improve and I believe in myself. And if I can do it, so can you! I will not allow my issues, or issues with any 3rd party products or services I use, to bring me down and impact how I work. It stops here!
